We know that Adam was told not to eat from the tree of knowledge in the garden.  He was told what his punishment would be if he ate from that tree.  What about Cain, seemingly he was not told to not murder?  Yet, he was punished.  How could a just Creator punish Cain if he was not told, don't murder.  Unless maybe he was told.  Don't murder is one of the six commandments that Rambam said were given to Adam.  There fore we see that Adam had to have passed down those commandments in the form of oral tradition to his children.  This is clear evidence to the existence of the oral Torah.  How did they know to offer a sacrifice to the Creator?  No where does it say in the text that Cain and Abel were commanded to bring a sacrifice?  How did they know what to bring?  How did they know if the Creator would be pleased?  Clearly, there was a transmission of directions to Cain and Abel.
Like wise with the generation of the flood.  What were they punished for?  What sin did they commit? Our sages say that the generation of the flood were guilty of sexual immorality.  This also was mentioned in the six commandments given to Adam.  In Genesis 6:2 we are told that the sons of the Judges, the aristocrats would abuse the common folk.  How?  When the commoners would go to get married, if the aristocrats would see a bride they liked they would go and take them.  This was too much.  This heinous crime caused the flood.  In chpt4:26 is when idol worship began.  It started with men being called by the name of the infinite One.  This is when men started to become objects of worship and icons.  Then we are told in 6:11 that the whole earth was filled with robbery.  The robbery of worship that belonged to the Creator and wives of men.  So we see that all three of these sins are sins that Adam was warned about and passed down to his descendants as laws for all of man kind to follow.  When there was a deviation there came the result which was punishment.
This brings us to Noach and the Noachide covenant.  In the next post we will delve into the seven commandments that were reiterated to Noach.  We will show how all seven are hinted to in one verse of the Torah.

Adam HaRishon, (the first) man initially was given one commandment.  So it would appear to be from the text.  There is an obvious question.  If Rambam said that Adam was given six commandments where are the rest of them?  I will ask a different question.  Where all of the events and everything that happened necessarily recorded in the text of the Torah itself?  The answer to the later is a resounding no.  Not everything was recorded at least obviously.  Some times you can learn things from what is not recorded.  Also the text itself can hint to certain details that are not said openly.
There are four levels of interpretation to the Torah.  These four levels are represented by an acronym.  PaRDeS which means paradise in hebrew  P=Pshat (plain sense simple meaning, R=remez (hint), D=drush (analogous), Sod (secret) gematria.  The Lubavitcher Rebbe tells us of another level that pertains to the Yechida.  The nacuda Ha Jehudi, the pentila Yid, this is the central point of all levels, Chasidus.
Also there is a concept of , Sheviim Panim B'Torah (seventy faces of the Torah).  Really, in actuality there are limitless Chidushim (novelties) in the Torah.  The Torah is eternal, the depth of it can not be fathomed.
         Mishna Perkei Avos 5:21
Ben Bag Bag said:  Learn it and learn it (the Torah), for everything is in it; look deeply into it; grow old and grey over it, and do not stir from it, for there is nothing more  edifying for you than it.
The Torah is the Wisdom of the creator.  There for, it is eternal, it is new every day.  When Jews bless The Creator before we read the Torah we say, "nosan Ha Torah"  this literally means, "he is giving us the Torah" every moment.  If you could know the mind of The Creator then you could know Torah.  When you learn Torah you connect with the eternal.  The Creator only created with Torah.  He spoke and the world became an entity.  The Torah with its understanding.  This was also given to Moshe and the nation, sons, children, as a  heritage.  Certainly the heritage of the eternal is eternal.  It is the Name of the creator.  Also the name of the children of Israel.  A name that is eternal.

Intro to the Oldest Religion Known to man kind

The oldest religion known to mankind is the Noachide covenant between the creator, blessed eternal one, and the children of Noach.  The following is from Rambam's Mishneh Torah.  Laws of Kings Chpt. 9:1.

1 Adam HaRishon was commanded in six things:
  • [the prohibition] concerning idolatry
  • [the prohibition] concerning blasphemy
  • [the prohibition] concerning spilling of blood
  • [the prohibition] concerning forbidden relations
  • [the prohibition] concerning robbery
  • and [the injunction of establishing courts of] justice.
Even though all these were received into our hands from Moshe Rabbenu, and the intellect naturally inclines towards them – from a general reading of the words of Torah, they can see that they were commanded in these. [G-d] added to Noah [the commandment] concerning a torn limb, as it is written "From the flesh, its life is in the blood, do not eat" (Genesis 9:4). This makes seven commandments. This is how matters stood in the world until Avraham. Avraham came and was commanded other things beyond this, in circumcision and he prayed the morning prayers. Yitzchak began tithing, and added the afternoon prayers. Yaakov added [the prohibition of not eating] the sciatic nerve and prayed the evening prayers. In Egypt, Amram was commanded other things, untilMoshe Rabbenu came and completed [the giving] of the Torah, by his hand.

From a general reading says Rambam you should be able to see the things that gentiles were commanded.  How you ask?  Well by simple deduction.  First rule is, to know that the Blessed One does not punish with out warning.  There fore all the things the gentiles are punished for through out the Torah they must have been warned about in the form of a formal commandment.  We will start to explore examples of this as we progress.  Can you guess what the generation of the flood was punished for?  How about Caanan the son of Cham?  How bout Sodom and Ghamorah?
